Our final Philadelphia Miniaturia workshop for 2026 will be this exquisite Wardrobe of Wonders!
Inspired by beloved tales of mystery and adventure, this imaginative workshop invites students to create a seemingly ordinary wooden wardrobe that hides an extraordinary secret.
At first glance, the wardrobe appears simple, but when the hanging jackets are slid aside, a hidden doorway is revealed, opening into a miniature world filled with wonder, discovery, and dreams.
Students will design and build their own secret scene using one of four enchanting themes: winter, forest, floral, or Fall. Through a combination of creative techniques, participants will learn how to build depth, perspective, and visual storytelling within the hidden space, bringing their miniature world vividly to life.
The wardrobe itself is cleverly designed to stand across the corner of a room, allowing the exterior to conceal the magical interior until the secret is revealed. By the end of the workshop, students will have created a captivating piece that combines craftsmanship, imagination, and storytelling, an unforgettable miniature that invites viewers to look twice and discover the world within.
